Reuniting Penn State’s Two Law Schools: Updates from the Panel
A panel of 14 students, staff, faculty and alumni from Penn State Dickinson Law and Penn State Law are developing recommendations on how to reunite Penn State’s two, separately accredited law schools. The panel is meeting weekly and will share its final recommendations with Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi by May 31, 2023. Updates from the panel will be shared on this page as the initiative progresses.
Weekly Panel Meeting
Subcommittees shared their discussions notes regarding opportunities and challenges with models 1 and 8. The panel then reviewed the current state of the model's spectrum and discussed how to best keep track of which parts of each model should be kept, removed, or discussed further.
Weekly Panel Meeting
The subcommittees met between meetings to discuss models 2 and 3. Additional models submitted by panel members were reviewed and discussed as a panel and then each subcommittee met via breakout session to discuss two new models, 1 and 8.
Weekly Panel Meeting
During the panel’s first meeting, subcommittee structures and charges for each were shared. Panel members were each assigned to one of three subcommittees: Budget and Finance; Academic Values; and Culture.
